Walsall Studio Ceramics
21st Anniversary Pot
A Boxed Limited Edition of 210 Handmade Shohin Bonsai Pots.

This limited edition of 210 handmade shohin bonsai pots is being produced to celebrate 21 years of full time production at Walsall studio ceramics, from a very humble beginning back in 1986 Walsall studio ceramics has grown over the years into a pottery known worldwide for its distinctive style and quality of bonsai pots.
We continually strive to improve and refined our pots and we consider that this limited edition is a perfect example of just how far our pots have developed over the years. Our aim has always been to produce pots as good as the best Japanese potters but with a style and character that is easily recognizable as one of our own.
The raised decoration is a Japanese mountain crab which is often used on pots in Japan, this represent a high landscape, so when looking at a tree in this pot you should view it as a tree in a high location such as on a hill or on the side of a mountain.
The pots are hand built in a similar method to that used by potters in Japan, this involves over 25 different processes from forming the basic shape in the beginning to the final glazing and firing at the end.
Here are just a few of the processes involved
Made in a traditional Walsall style with Textured feet, these oval pots measure 135mm X 105mm X 40mm, they are glazed in our two most popular colours Grey/green and Grey, are individually numbered and come in a presentation box.
